Alan Wachtel, MD

Dr. Wachtel, a board certified psychiatrist, is the founder and director of Familyhealth Associates and treats patients of all ages. He is a graduate of the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, where he also completed his psychiatric residency. He was a fellow at Payne Whitney, New York Hospital and a Clinical Associate Professor at New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Wachtel is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.

Dr. Wachtel is the author of “The Attention Deficit Answer Book”. He lectures throughout the country on the treatment of Attention Deficit Disorder, learning, mood and behavioral disorders throughout the life cycle. He regularly appears on television and radio programs, and he is quoted in publications as an expert on these disorders.

Dr. Wachtel is the founder and President of Familyhealth Studies, a not-for-profit organization, and a member of the Advisory Board of Resources for Children with Special Needs, Inc., a not-for-profit organization.

Carly Wachtel Snyder, MD

Dr. Snyder is one of a small cohort of medical physicians in New York City specializing in reproductive psychiatry. Her unique approach combines traditional psychiatric treatment with integrative medicine-based treatments.

Dr. Snyder is an attending physician on staff in the Department of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center. She also holds a teaching appointment at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and is an assistant attending with a teaching appointment at Weill-Cornell in the Payne Whitney Women's Program.

Dr. Snyder was on the Postpartum Support International (PSI) Board of Directors as the Research Chair for several years, and now serves on the President’s Advisory Council. PSI is the leading national organization providing awareness, prevention, resources and treatment of mental illnesses related to childbearing. She frequently speaks to various audiences, such as 'The Pregnant New Yorker,' and at professional conferences and meetings. Dr. Snyder is also a member of the Women’s Mental Health Consortium.

Dr. Snyder is the Director of Women's Health for FamilyHealth Associates.

Alberto Escallon, MD

Dr. Alberto Escallon is a board-certified Child & Adolescent and Adult psychiatrist. He attended medical school at The Xaverian School Of Medicine in Bogota, Colombia S.A., from 1992 to 1998. He completed his residency in Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC from 2003 to 2007 and then a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at St Vincent's Catholic Medical Center in NY  from 2007 to 2009. Dr Escallon also completed a 2 year fellowship in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at NYU. Currently Dr Escallon is the Director of Child & Adolescent Outpatient services at Mt Sinai St Luke's Hospital where he is also an Assistant Professor for the Department of Psychiatry. 

Dr. Escallon sees clients of all ages. He does psychiatric evaluations, consultations, Psychopharmacologic (medication) Management, and Psychotherapy. His areas of expertise include ADHD,  Mood Disorders, Trauma and Anxiety. Dr. Escallon joined Family Health Associates in 2016.

Lynn Green, MD

Dr. Green received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University in 1993. She attended medical school at Albany Medical College and graduated in 1997. Dr. Green has also received the Frederick McCandless Prize, awarded to the senior student who has demonstrated the best performance in Psychiatry, at Albany Medical College. She completed her General Adult Psychiatry residency in 2000 at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. She then went on to complete a Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Fellowship also at Mount Sinai in 2002. Her professional experience includes over eight years as the lead psychiatrist at Manhattanville College and she specializes in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Depression and Anxiety. Dr. Green sees patients of all ages. Her focus is on Psychiatric evaluations and psycho-pharmacological management, and she joined FamilyHealth Associates in 2002.
